Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 June 2026

This policy is written in plain English for our customers and is not legal advice. Items marked [placeholder] should be confirmed by CleanCo before publication.

1. Who we are (controller)

CleanCo, a cleaning and property-services business based on the Isle of Man, is the controller of personal data collected through this website and in the course of providing services. Registered business name and address [placeholder]. Contact: cleanco.iom@gmail.com / (07624) 226682.

2. What data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
  • Enquiry & booking data — your name, contact details, property address, the service requested and any notes you send via the quote form, email, phone, WhatsApp or Facebook.
  • Service delivery data — appointment dates, access notes, key-holding records, invoices and payment status.
  • Job photos — before/after photographs of the work, taken in line with our Terms.
  • Website data — basic technical information your browser sends (IP address, user agent) and, if enabled, privacy-friendly analytics about which pages are visited.

3. Lawful bases (UK / Isle of Man GDPR)

We rely on the following lawful bases:
  • Contract — to respond to your quote request and deliver the services you've booked.
  • Legitimate interests — to run and improve our business (e.g. record-keeping, security, basic analytics, occasional before/after marketing photos where appropriate).
  • Legal obligation — to keep accounting and tax records for the periods required by law.
  • Consent — where required, for example for marketing emails or for use of identifiable photos.

4. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
  • Trusted local trades within our Property Care Network, where you have asked us to coordinate work on your behalf, and only the information they need to do the job.
  • Service providers who help us run the business — for example our email provider, accounting software and website hosting [placeholder].
  • Authorities or regulators, where we are legally required to do so.

5. International transfers

Most of our day-to-day data stays on the Isle of Man or in the UK. Some service providers (for example email or hosting) may process data in the UK, EEA or other countries. Where data is transferred outside the Isle of Man / UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions where applicable.

6. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed:
  • Enquiries that don't lead to a booking — typically up to 12 months [placeholder].
  • Customer records, invoices and job notes — retained for as long as required for accounting, tax and complaint purposes [placeholder].
  • Marketing photos — kept until you ask us to remove them, where they identify your property.

7. Cookies & analytics

See our Cookie Policy for details on the small number of cookies and similar technologies used on this site.

8. Marketing

We do not send unsolicited marketing emails. If we offer a newsletter or marketing list in future, you'll be asked to opt in and can opt out at any time using the link in those messages or by contacting us.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including limiting access to authorised staff, using reputable third-party providers and keeping software up to date. No system is 100% secure, and we'll let you know if a security incident affects your data and you need to take action.

10. Your rights

Under Isle of Man / UK data protection law you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and (where applicable) data portability. You can also withdraw consent where we relied on it. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above.

11. Complaints

If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Isle of Man Information Commissioner via the Office of the Information Commissioner (InfoRights), which is the supervisory authority for data protection on the Isle of Man.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on this page.
